Snow Beans Poriyal | Snow peas Thooran

 

Snow Peas Poriyal

      
        Snow peas poriyal is a delicious dish. This dish is made by stir frying it with coconut.  This is a great dish for kids too, but reduce....
the quantity of chilly. This is served with Rice.

Ingredients


  • Oil - 2tsp
  • Mustard - 1tsp
  • Urad dal - 1tsp 
  • Green chilly - 3
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Cumin powder - 1/2tsp
  • Grated  Coconut - 1/3cup
  • Onion - 1/2medium sized 
  • Snow peas - 2cups or 1lb
  • Salt - as required
  • Water 


Method 

  1. In a medium sized wok, bring oil to heat and add mustard. when it splutters add urad dal and curry leaves. 
  2. Add chopped onions and fry it for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped snow peas. Saute it for few minutes.
  4. Pour 1/4cup of water, add salt and close it with a lid.
  5. Wait until the water gets evaporated. The color of the snow peas get changed.
  6. Now open the lid and give a stir.
  7. Add cumin powder to it and saute it.
  8. Then add the shredded coconut to it and stir it. Off the stove.
  9. Yummy Snow Peas poriyal is ready to serve.

Step by step instruction :

  • In a pan heat oil
                                      



  • Add mustard
        

  • Add urad dal
                                       

  • Add curry leaves
                                       

  • Add onion and green chilly
                                        


  • Add salt
                                         

  • Add chopped snow peas and saute it
                                           


  • Add water and close with the lid.
                                        


  • After the water gets evaporated open the lid and give a stir
                                          

  • Add 1/2tsp of cumin powder and saute it
                                         

  • Add shredded coconut and mix it
                                             


  • Now its ready to serve
